New Pride

Well, I'm happy to announce that we've got our 38th descendant inbound. The parents, Derek and Kyndal, are expecting their second child October 14. That's 12 days off from Derek's birthday. I couldn't think of a better late B-day present for Kyndal to give. In other news: ajaddiction plays Grand Theft Auto 4 till eyes bleed.

Thank god for the military!

Thirty-Seven individuals gathered around Minnesota have the military to thank for their very being. This revelation started with a unassuming phone call warning Grandma Alfson about an impending visit by two elderly men. The two gentleman callers arrived at the doorsteps of Grandma’s house. One of the men named Russel was a high school graduate along side Grandma and claimed to be infatuated with her before his military service. Proof of this adoration, a tiny tattoo on his wrist reading “bev”.

The man traveling through Minnesota with his brother said the military impeded their relationship. Grandma, who was an unknowing participant in this relationship was speechless. She met our Grandfather after and spawned what is now a close knit group of people. Who’d of thought how close we all came from not existing if not for Russel’s enlistment.

Update: Well, I spoke to grandma again and squeezed out some more details. It seems they did have an impromptu date when he invited himself to a Youth for Christ Rally grandma was already going to (what a hellraiser our granny is). Later he went to war with Korea and got inked. Seems she didn’t even know of the tattoo as the pair corresponded via letters. Well, Russel got captured and taken prisoner and was not allowed to write anymore. Which pretty much ended the relationship right there. Ain't war hell?

Twins lose...again

I went to the Twins game this evening with some friends - we sat in the lower left field stands. They played the Los Angeles Angels, who now have Torii Hunter on their team. It was a pitcher's duel, with the Twins losing 1-0. The Twins are now 1-2 in their first three games of the season.
