Crime Wave Sweeps Winnebago, MN

In a daring and dimwitted daylight robbery, four men entered the Supervalue grocery store located on Main Street. Their plan was simple; to leave with as much merchandise without paying. They got as far as the sidewalk.

The thieves distracted the employees as their coherts carried away various food items out of the store and into their car. A good samaritan noticed the odd behavior, calling the local police. The mens' plan was foiled, and all were caught. Even one of the robber's brilliant plan to hide behind a pop machine on said sidewalk was foiled by the responding officers. Seems the cops were armed with vision, a powerful law enforcement tool.

More on this story as it unfolds.

Minnesotan holds own in gaming session

Well, I went down to Charles City, Iowa for my first LAN party with Danny. We played Call of Duty 4 via some pretty beefy rigs. My tower held up pretty well, I'm glad to say. I just wish my mouse hand did as well.

Danny's setup:

Even the cat had a computer chair.

And finally, a familiar ornimate decorated Amy's dresser.

Farewell, Grandpa

William E. Baxter, known as Bill to just about everybody, passed away on June 25th, 2008 (click name for obiturary). Bill was my and Mitch's grandfather on Mom's side, and will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Bill died of congestive heart failure as he battled to breathe in his last several days. Given some warning, I and most of the family was able to be with him in his final days and hours. The picture below is of Bill in his St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center room about three hours before he died.

Bill was placed in St. Lukes in the last few years of his life in part because of suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. As a way of remembering this great man and all the good times we had, I'll be participating in the Minnesota Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk in September in the Twin Cities. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, please go to this link: Minnesota Alzheimer's Association.

If you'd prefer to send a check, just email me and let me know. Thank you both for your support and for all those that helped in any way around the funeral.

June 16 - More Golf

Played golf twice this week in Lake Elmo, on the 16th and the 19th. Cimarron is a 9 hole par-3 course and I played pretty bad. Had a good time though.

Mountain Dew Revolution

Mountain Dew has come out with three new flavors for summer. I've tried all three and Revolution is clearly the best. Its "Infused with Wild Berry Fruit Flavor and Ginseng". At first I thought it would taste like that awful Pepsi Blue stuff they tried a few summers ago, but I was pleasantly surprised that this is not the case. This one tastes a lot like Mountain Dew Code Red, but is blue. Here's a picture of it on my desk at work in front of a few of the Jolt Blue cans.

Memorial Day and Beyond...

Okay, so its been awhile since I've posted anything. But then, its been awhile since any of the writers here have posted anything, so I'm just going to start posting stuff about me. I went home to Blue Earth for Memorial Day weekend and during this venture Dad and I cleared some brush at one of Stephen the Farmer's fields near East Chain.
